Clubhouse, DON’T CALL IT A PODCAST, but that’s what it is.

Clubhouse is the newest craze in social media. Just this past week Elon Musk joined the platform and quickly doubled the number of users on the new social experiment overnight. At this point Elon could walk outside, take a shit on his lawn in front of the world, and for some reason investors would pump Tesla Stock, for “great company outlook”, everything that man touches turns to meme’s and we love it. But this isn’t about ole Elon, this is about Clubhouse.

Clubhouse is taking the social media world by storm as the app is an invite only exclusive. People naturally want to be apart of things that they can’t be. Name any fucking cult in the world, same concept there guys. Just like Supreme took over the hype beast channels; Clubhouse is doing the same sort of exclusivity to build clout and excitement. The process is working too. After the explosion with Musk, Zuckerberg, and a slew of other celebs, the app has garnered the attention of more VC’s trying to get in on the dolla dolla bills yall.

The listen first app is new and has a bright future. Basically users can listen in on a conversation between what is a host and guest. The users can raise their hand (virtually you moron), speak to the guests and hosts, and provide their dumb fucking opinion on a drake verse or something. Many see this as “fad app” and even some other boomers attribute clubhouse to the same things as “party lines” that really rocked the 90’s I’m sure. Clubhouse also has been commented on as a new discord, which is kindaaa true lol. Whichever view you hold on Clubhouse, there is no denying a certain curiosity with the invite-only app. Drake, Zuck, Tiffany Haddish, ole Elon, and that’s just a few of the celebrities that have embraced the app to connect with fans on a more personal level.

The future of Clubhouse is murky. Moving forward, the app will have to gain more users, more press, and of course more funding. It’s a risky call betting on things like Clubhouse and Stereo, but then again no one really thought Podcasting would go anywhere, and look at my dumbass, podding away. Clubhouse has a wave right now, and the hype can certainly be used advantageously by the company. The future is in the ear.

Anyway, that’s my take on it. Until next time. -GS
