But BizBites why are you writing about Barstool? Because fuck you that’s why, I don’t need a reason to write about a company. We love Barstool at BizBites and would fucking love the opportunity to work for them. But this isn’t a hey Barstool let me suck your dick party. Barstool is a fantastic media company, with their head in the game and are currently on fire. Recently a giant commotion happened between employee’s, Barstool, and some cock sucker at HBO. All in all, it showed how truly in-touch the world has gotten with Podcasts.
So, let us give you a quick read about what happened. There was a wildly popular podcast called “Call Her Daddy”, shit was on top of the charts when the podcast hosts got a tad bit greedy and walked away from the deal of a lifetime. Now the reason they walked away is because some Lord Fardquad asshole look alike said that MAKING 1 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS IN A YEAR WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH. I mean Jesus Christ I have my fair share of doubts, but you put a million bucks on the table and it will be hard for me not to give you an under the table jerk session. So, let me get back to it. After one of the cohosts said “wait a fucking second that’s the deal of fucking lifetime!” Barstool let Call Her Daddy back in as a podcast.
Holy fuck. Yeah, I Know. It’s a shitload of drama and an ass load of cash but it sheds light on the fact that podcasts are FUCKING HUGE. I wrote about Joe Rogan getting an exclusive deal with Spotify, you can see that blog ---here----. It shows how much IP can be brought into media, and how goddamn beautiful and destructive IP can become. For the Host that did not come back, I think her name is Sophia? (please call me Soph, I’m here for ya) She fucked up Royally, I mean that’s like fucking pushing it to the one-yard line with 5 extra downs and somehow not converting (woah there BizBites you analogy GOD). The thing is she fucked up super hard and it’s good to hear one of them came to their senses. Good on you…… Alex? (also call me) Anyway, this whole situation brought up the fact that podcasts and that medium are a gold mine right now if you got the right content.
Barstool is a great company with a giant moat and enormous fan base. Backed by some publicly traded stocks, Barstool is bound to push Penn National Gaming ($PENN) to new heights. The point is this huge public drama will only push more people to barstool and ultimately more listeners to the podcast that they raved about. You don’t fuck with El Pres and that was seen. The Barstool team just doesn’t play by the same rules that a media titan like HBO can understand.
