Apple… But In Your Car

Apple is entering the competitive industry of Electric Vehicles, promising to build out and scale batteries that will be used in these EV’s come 2024. Tim Cook and Apple have been talking about entering the automobile space for quite a while, and with the recent rise and public fascination with Electric Vehicles, it looks like Apple is going to strike while the iron’s hot.

Apple has had Project Titan on the books for fucking YEARS. The project was basically an overview of how, why, and when Apple would try their hand at Cars. Well, it’s time to shake off the dust because it looks like the leap of faith is coming in 2024. Apple plans to enter the market of the automobile inudstry that year with a new and improved battery for Electric Vehicles, their first attempt at putting their foot in the door. Of course, this Apple produced battery is going up against the likes of Tesla, who has been dominating the industry and headlines for years, and the fire is still hot. Obviously, Apple has a competitive advantage having cash flows, time, and technology to set them up for success. Also, this will help Apple with having the possibility of building other ventures with car makers, namely the software inside. A car completely powered by Apple’s OS could be something we see in the next 10 years.

The news gave investors a hard-on, because the stock has been up for the past two days, peaking right now at $131 a share. Surely this will give Apple some leverage in the crowded spaces they keep finding themselves in. IoT was once kind of a funny prophecy, but is now a reality. Playing Candy Crush in your car while you plow into a family mini-van? Seems like the direction America is heading, but don’t worry, they’ll probably make a bunch of shit safe…. Hopefully. Anyway, Apple was mocked for endeavors they put their hopes on, but now those off-the-wall claims don’t seem so out of the box anymore. And Apple is proving it.

Apple building car batteries will soon be a future for all of us. The bigger picture is what they will do BEYOND the batteries. Is this just a jumping off point for the future of Apple? It sure does seem like it, and we’re excited to see what that future looks like. Ford and Apple is the duo that no one fucking expected but in 2028 it might just be common place.

Anyway, that’s my take on it. Until next time. -GS
