Amazon’s First Union

Not like a railroad or anything. Like the groups that get together to protest unfair working conditions, lack of pay, or unsafe environments. Does any of that sound like something Jeff Bezos would enjoy? Fuck with a capital F no. Ole penishead Bezos is not a happy camper, because as you read, the first proposed Amazon Workers Union is being voted on. Let’s get into it.

So, if you haven’t heard, Amazon runs like a nice version of a sweat shop. I mean, at the end of the day it’s still a fucking sweatshop but it’s a nice one in the way that they have some technology, some uniforms, maybe a truck or two. You know all the shit that the sweatshops in… cough cough…. Asia would never think of getting. Now some typical sweatshop rules apply to Amazon workers like pissing in bottles, shitting in bags, having robots nearly fucking kill you, working insane hours, not being able to take a break, you know that almost inhumane cruelty that captures the public’s attention for mere moments before king penishead Bezos wipes it under the rug and off the internet. Well, Bezos I think it might be time to pay the piper, because Alabama could be getting a union! That is if the votes are in favor of it.

Unions are mostly frowned upon by the corporate world, and although unions seem nice, they never really work. I mean “work” in the long-term, now in the short-term, this might be a good play by the workers at Amazon. A union will most likely guarantee proper safety equipment, mandated breaks, I doubt you’ll need to piss in a bottle to make a delivery, wages will be more than likely raised as well, and sweet baby pensions. Again, this sounds like gold to the ears of people that have had none of those listed items in the past, working with Amazon. That’s why I think in the short-term it will be a relief and something to be celebrated. HOWEVER I just really don’t see a lot of unions working, remember Auto Factory workers? Coal Miners? As soon as they rise up, corporate finds some legal loophole to outsource work and fuck over the employees once again. Not saying that is the fate of the Amazon workers, and by all means get paid baby, but just be on the look out for the long-term effects. What happens when all the dust settles?

Amazon needed something like a Union forming to finally tell Headquarters that what they are doing is fucked up, even if the vote to unionize doesn’t completely work out, I think the message is heard. Will Amazon do anything to fix it? Judging by the past, unfortunately I would say no, they have a tendency to make promises, but never deliver, but hey who knows? Maybe this new leadership will be like…… humane, wow that’d be crazy.

Amazon to unionize? Jesus someone wake up Bezos from his nightmare come true, lol.

Anyway, that’s my take on it. Until next time. -GS
